Laboratory Engineer

About the Role

Condor Energy Services Ltd is an Australian owned business operating in the resource sector, with multiple locations across Australia and New Zealand.

We are currently looking for an experienced Laboratory Engineer to supports our growing Australian Operations.

As the Laboratory Engineer at Condor you will be responsible for analysing data and providing technical support within our laboratory environment.

Salary: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans and performs moderately complex and non-routine analytical processes to moderately complex prototypes, products, special equipment/services, and/or laboratory/test procedures.

  • Performs assigned duties according to the chemical hygiene plan and the current HSE laboratory safety standards

  • Active in the development of best safety practices in activities related to product design, development, manufacture, and use.

  • Independently manages time and lab testing to ensure timeliness and deliverables are met with guidance from the project team leader.

  • Assembles complex subsystems or prototype equipment and performs or arranges for necessary tests/experiments as required. Responsibilities may include building and/or modifying non-routine prototypes, models, and special equipment.

  • Assist in recommending design or modifications of analytical processes, equipment, or procedures that are not completely standardized or prescribed. Performs complex environmental or laboratory tests using proficient techniques with electrical/electronic, chemical, or mechanical equipment that includes set-up, calibration, trouble- shooting, monitoring, and data collection.

  • Analyzes test data and writes reports. May train lower-level technicians and/or field personnel.



Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' proven experience working in a laboratory setting, with a focus on experimental design and execution

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
